a pleasantly and surprisinlgy unbiased article on the BBC website today:

defuzz:
good lord, sounds like hes actually made some sensible decisions on the fuel tax.

Very low emission vehicles could qualify for 0%

The few very high emission vehicles upto £210 (new vehicles)

this means it will actually encourage people to buy lower emision vehicles but doesn't target 4x4s specifically so big sports cars and executive cars will be taxed the same.

and he claims less tax to be paid on biofuels

Range Rover Blues:
Reading it a little more carefully he's not given that much away, 0% only applies to a few cars that no-one buys.  It's crap anyway, as electric cars still relay on fossil fuel power stations so all he's done is moved the polution.

Grant:
CO2 is a load of bull, its all just an excuse to extract every last penny from the motorist  :x
