need a new exhurst for my car but not sure if standard system will fit as it has a perkins diesel in it. so anyone with a normal vm diesel rr could you tell me which side the exhurst downpipe is on mine is on the drivers side then crosses to the n/s under the gearbox just behind the crossmember. any one now if this is the norm or have i got to get one made up thanks

muddysteve:

gtomo2:
sounds about right for my luck. Only problems with conversions is nothing is standard. well looks like i will have to get one made up   Or convinse the missus to let me buy that nice rr on ebay :D

clbarclay:
On the TDI engines the exhaust is on near (passenger) side of engine, on the VM the exhaust ports are on the off (driver) side. The VM down pipe is on the off side and then the exhaust crosses over to near side.

If you've already got a down pipe then an exhaust specialist can make you a new one using the existing one as a template.

gtomo2:
thanks think it may be a vm exhurst as it looks and fits the rr ok. will have to take it to the local stellership and get them to confirm it is then off to britpart to order the new one
