Current drain on a softdash
(1/1)
petergalileo:
Hi guys, got a N plate LSE, and I am having trouble with alternators and batteries. I have checked with an ammeter and I have a continuous 1.3 to 1.5 amp drain on the battery.
I have dissconnected the clock with no effect, I have also removed the fuse for the airbag system and having heard rumours about the rear wiper motor I took the fuse for that out too, still with no effect.
Before I start removing every damned fuse in the thing looking for a current drain does anybody have any suggestions ?
Thanks

The best way would be remove one fuse at a time, keeping an eye on the ammeter for the centre slot

Aftermarket sound system/alarm/in car 'phone. 1 ampo is a serious draw

Well it does have a few wiring problems, I shall pull some fuses and see if that makes a difference.
Thanks guys

If its got a lot of extras in try disconnecting some of the extra wiring on the battery as well, it may be easier to track if its an extra thats draining it,
