I got a quote in december to change my policy over to a 200tdi discovery.  The extra on the premium was £60 to take me up to the end of may (original policy was £330).   I have bought one, rang back to change my insurance and they want an extra £130 now untill may!  They then quoted £800 a year this is tpft with a 5k limited mileage.  I have tried lancaster and they are about £100 better but not much of an improvement.  Lancaster will only insure me if I remove the two boot seats and wont cover me to commute!  (I only go to work in it once in a blue moon anyway).

Was there someone on here who deals with 4x4 insurance?  Anyone got any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Mike

Try Barry Scott, he'll either get you a quote or clean your coppers.

try www.confused.com, they can throw some cheap ones up at times.

You wanna try this one, my father wants me to insure a new car he has, cause he dont drive any more, I have a max no claims on the disco no probs, but because this is another motor, i have to start afresh with no no claims, looking at around £700 for me

That would be nearly a grand for both vehicles, now looking round for alternatives

Adrian Flux is normally quite good with 4x4's and also Sureterm Direct, although they look for everything to have a working imobaliser and you have to send them proof!!

Its all sorted!  I rang them back and had a polite moan.  They decided to run through the quote again and they came up with £420 for next year.  That meant £49 to change but as they messed me around they offered to drop the admin fee of £20 so £29 to change!

Ive never had a problem with adrian flux before and have recommended them to people in the past.  At least now I will continue to do so!  :D

Thanks for the tips everyone, will try all of them in may at renewal time!

Cheers,

Mike
