anti 4x4 again

<< < (4/5) > >>

WishIhadaLandy:
Is anyone else getting bored of this anti 4x4 stuff :?

How long have they been barking up the same (and wrong) tree?! :x

the loon:
another genious inspired piece of thinking from Sian at the alliance.

Reminds me of the old Jasper Carrot sketch about football violence
"Violence on in the stands is blamed on violence on the pitch. The way this works is someone scores a goal and eveyone in the crowd stabs each other"

Obviously if the likes of Sol Campbell,Wayne Rooney,David Beckham etc stop driving 4x4's we will all follow suit and trade in our gas guzzling evil road monsters for 2CV's,pushbikes etc.

Now back in the real world....

As to the statement that "driving a big 4x4 in town as socially unacceptable as drink-driving"
there were 590 alcohol-related road deaths in the year, up from 580 in 2003(source www.80mg.org.uk/ddnews05.html#OCT )
looking at the department of transports websight there is no information or statistics on deaths directly atributed to 4x4 use in towns or anywhere but I would be intrested to be proved wrong

tenpolequint:
It will die down when the 4x4's drop out of fashion. Then we will be free of getting caught in the antis cross fire. Incedently does anyone know if any anti 4x4 has posted in this forum. Has anyone written to the anti 4x4 lobby and got a reply with regards our hobby?

A few of us have had many discussions both in person and in writing with them...   none of the answers would surprise you.

tenpolequint:
Blinkered zealot replies I suppose. They treat anti 4x4 as a religion and nothing you can say or evidence you submit will sway them. I guess.
