What colour for the 90?

--- Quote from: "LandRoger" ---Matt, Dont go down the Squadie look - it will knock pounds off the value,
Do it in an acepted Landy colour if you want to keep value-mine is Factory
Cream and local landy dealers told me that if it were finished in a Landrover Mettalic coluor it would sell much quicker and put up to 1500-on the price, Go for Arden green met all over, thats my 5ps worth,

lemme see -
professional paint and spray job - £1000 to £1500 quid.
OD = £40 and a bit of time
Off roading = scratchesand damage.. above paint to touch up
metallic = back to body shop / professional job
OD = touch up with brush
Besides why do I want to sell it after spending nearly £2k on fixing it up!
Sorry Roger but I want it to look nice, but it's a working landrover too so it's got to be cheap and easy to make look good after brushes with tress etc.
LandRoger:
Mine is a working motor too it lives on Salisbury plain 7 days a week in and out of bushes etc -im a pest controler, if you give it a heavy waxing
before laning etc it doesnt get scratches! or mud clinging to it, it doesnt have to be a pro job to get a good Metallic finish + you can do any touch
ups by areosol cans , just assumed you wanted to keep value instead of having to say those sickening words ( good car BUT hand painted ),
Matt_H:
well it comes down to I just cannot afford to pay someone to paint it.. so anything more than cost of paint is too much.
The green i've picked is very close to the land rover green anway so all but the total enthusiast would be hard placed to tell I think
I'm not sure I'm dusciplined enough to wax before every laning trip either :-(
ahh well I'l probably get to the words "I wish I'd listened to ....." ;)

LandRoger:
Matt, I suppose you will be able to stand back and have the satisfaction that its ALL MY OWN WORK!, good luck with it M8, remember Prep is everything, when painting,
Matt_H:
location sorted - thanks gecko for the offers, but you are a little too far away for a day trip plus dont want to put you out.. going to do all the prep work at home then paint at work under the building :-)
Been persuaded to take all the cheq plate off and paint under.
Right then prep-what do i need to do? I was planning on a full wash (probably just take down the car wash and get a basic program (help scratch it up too!), then rub over every painted area with wet and dry after removing all bolton plastics etc.
How far down do i need to go??? (I assume not bare metal) now theres an idea - dolerean style landy - anyone done bare alu?
Anyone not doing anything at the weekend? ;)
Matt
