defender bumpers

ok you lot i dont know if its just me but i have had a night mare refitting my bumper seems to be them clets (the captive thing) so anyone know how to do it esey  ?????

give them a full spray and make sure the bolts are screwing in ok

If your on about the loose metal plates, then get them even from either side, then hold them about 5 - 7mm from the back. Should line up no problems.

There are two different types of bolt available. One is a standard bolt which is a pig to get centered when trying to start the thread. The other has a small taper right on the end which sorts that problem for you. I always shove a screwdriver inbetween the bumper and the jacking point too, this stops the plate from flexing down in it's cage whilst starting the thread.

If that dosnt work then get a bigger hammer. If that dosnt work at least you will feel a lot less stressed out  :twisted:
