Something wrong with basing political decisions on religious beliefs IMHO

I remember a quote I heard

"Good people do good things, evil people do evil things but it takes religion for good people to do evil things"

Used as a get out the world over!  If we started a church of 4x4 and said it was our religious right to drive the byways of this country. Could they stop us?

God may be the final judge, but prior to that there's 60,441,457 other people who will be able to pass judgement first.
