What brand CD player do i fit?

Hi all

Have a disco with bass speaker in door.  When i got her she had standard cassette player fitted which sounded really tinnie then realised rear door bass speaker was not connected.

Connected this no problems and sound improved greatly but now the unit has given up the ghost with no dislay and unable to use front keys to input code.

Is there a manufacturer say Sony who's unit will fit without the need of using the rear door Bass speaker just Disco standard 4 speakers.

Thanks

Jon

Pioneer DEH series.  I bought an mp3 cd player ages ago and it goes strong, bought a sony one to replace it and ended up putting the pioneer one back in cos the quality was remarkably better!

just remember,if you fit a "standard" din size cd player it will out of the dash about an inch, you will not get one to fit properly as the old cassette player on a disco is shorter than normal......I made a plastic spacer

Go buy your self a copy of max power and traul through the back pages. They are full of car stereos and cheap places to buy them online. I bought a JVC headunit a while back, the quality is not the very best, but for the price it was and still is very good.

Good makes that will make head units to suit your need include

Sony
Alpine
JVC
Pioneer
Blaupunkt
