Whats that whining?

I can't work out where its coming from, but when I accelorate I can here a whining noise. Some times its worse than others but then it can just disappear.

Any ideas? And could this be something serious? After a blown head just before christmas and an mot bill costing £860 I really hope it isn't  :?

It could be comeing from your rear propshaft, which may be loose or the rear diff.

I may be wrong but its worth a look.

Seriously though, does it go with the engine revs or when you go through the gears?

Definitly with the engine revs as I can hear it when the missus isn't in the car :lol:

I'll check if the rear prop shaft is loose tomorrow. How would I check if I have an iffy diff
