Right, I'm looking to extend the breathers on the G/box and T/case.

Just where should I be looking for the union bolts and pipes, Cant find them anywhere. Sorted the axles no probs, just these to do now.

Cheers.

Hi mate, On my 200TDI k reg they are located to the left of the engine at the back just next to the last spark plug...Looking at the car from the front that is. Also you can just buy some clear tube from B&Q and add it on to the existing pipes, that swhat I did and it works a treat and saves a lot of hassle....Most people do this.

i just did mine on 300 tdi, and the breathers were to the left of the engine looking from the front, i just used a tee piece joined em and extended it  :)

Tyke:
So how many pipes are there in that position. I have found two there, (black plastic with 'u-bend' ends just behind the rear glow plugs and tight up to the rear bulkhead),  and assued they are from the axles.

Under the vehicle I can see the union bolts and pipes running off the axles and assumed up into the engine compartment . . . it's the box's breathers I can't suss.

Am I missing something obvious?

Wanderer:
On a 200 the rear axle goes to abbove the rear axle. Easy enough to follow.
The front axle goes along the radius arm and up on to the n/s inner wing.

The T box and gearbox go to behind the engine.

Personally I run brand new pipe up to behind the snorkel on mine.

Adding pipe is Ok until it leaks or gets pulled off at any time. It's really not worth the chance, the pipe is cheap enough.
It's just getting to the unions on the top of the boxes. They are both in the region of the linkages.
