we have the same issue with ours and want to know why it has a strange reservoir and if any type of bottle will do as a replacement.

We also found that by topping it up with STP anti-steering leak fluid, it has drastically reduced the leak to almost nothing

That should be not so bad, unless its pushing it out, check the pipes and clips see if any are perished or cracked, also the reservoir may be cracked on the plastic

The other question, it doesn't matter about the resevoir, any will do if they hav the correct fittings for the pipes, it only sucks out one and pushes back through the other pipe

......it did hurt! Recon steering box - quite painful in the wallett but at least we did not end up having an accident because of it.
