WARNING DISCOVERY 200 OWNERS
denviks:
after reading the land rover owners mag i read abit in the back that said 200 tdi owners should check this pipe. the pipe is to do with the braking system and if it is split can lead to sudden brake loss
this is the pipe union to check
this is what i found
time to get them checked guys n girls...... i couldnt believe what i found on mine. and i did loose my brakes while up in the highlands last year. i put it down to brake fade in a big way as it was so sudden but now i think i know why they failed.
just cut the end of the pipe and rejoin...
andyhubbard:
Thanks for that Dennis-OK hands up if you guess what i'm about to do?
It's not fair you got it right-i hope.
colintandy:
:D i came across that problem on my disco about 2 years ago only noticed it when i went to change fuel fillter
hobbit:
Two ways here, that small pipe goes into the heater unit in the body, for a temp repair block off the small pipe to the servo, and you will be ok, as it can effect your servo braking, mine did this for a while took some figuring out what the pipe was and where it went
Or get another piece of pipe to extend the original one to reach the join
If your brake pedal ever does go hard, this is usually the problem, the pipe is rubber and perishes
petergalileo:
Does that also apply to the V8 ? I dont recall seeing that pipe on mine ?
