urgent help required for vitara 1.6 1993 carb settings

Sounds like you might have timin/fouling issues there too. Wouldnt hurt to check your timing and the state of the plugs.

Its possible you are developing hotspots as a result of overfuleing/underfueling which may well actually be the plugs and as a result might have killed them.

I can get you a pic of the carb on Rabbit if you want.

hi people,
 still got hell of a problem with this nikki carb , tried to find out what jets are required for the 1.6 , nobody seems to know, can anybody help.
managed to fit the original airbox , still runs like a pig.
 set my trip counter got 64 miles to full tank £30 worth !!!.
 what cylinder is number 1.
i live in st,neots cambs.
 would it be possible for me to come see somebody in the know its got me
 and i am not a fool.

Sounds like you are funning hideously rich, certainly worth reducing the richness a bit, Assuming the card as mixture adjustments wind it in a little.

Possible your plugs are going to need cleaning/replacing after running that rich, they'll be black.

Do a search on google and look through these threads, there is a guide someplace I'm sure of it.
