Hey,

Right, ive got a 24v horn but want to run it off my landy's 12v electrics..

There must be a way of doing this...

Anyone got any ideas how?

Thanks

Not that easy to drop from 24 to 12 is a doddle, the other way not so, one way is to mount 2 batteries connected up for 24, and have another charging system to charge them, ie a 24v alternator mounted, or just re charge the batteries when parked up from a charger

Invertors from 12 to 24 not very common though for onboard use, you 24v horn should work on 12v but be rather weak

the quickest and easiest way is to fit a 12-24 inverter but why you want a 24v horn?

unknownmanxman:
Thanks,

The horn is an air horn from a truck, it really loud but its 24v it needs the power to open a valve within the horn to let the compressed air through....

would an inverter still work?

More batteries etc seems a bit expensive just for a horn

Thanks

an inverter should work ok you just need to make sure its big enough, only prob is they,re not that cheap either :?
