I snapped my chassis

I've snapped my chassis!  Just in front of the near side rear spring front hanger.  It's been platted in a couple of places and the snap is between the plates by the outrigger.

Anybody got any idea how much it costs to get it rebuilt onto a galvanised chassis or suggest anyone who might be interested in doing it?  I'd do it myself but I just don't have the space to.  I suppose I could always just patch it up again.

If you've got bottomless pits for pockets and/or someone elses cheque book, you could try the Huddersfield Land Rover Centre I'm sure they would be only too happy to help (empty your bank account). Bear in mind tho', a decent galv chassis will be around the 1K mark. You could go down the route of galvanising a second hand one but I personally dont see that that's a really sound idea. Rust is rust, galvanised or otherwise. There are always people advertising in LROi that do re-furbs and stuff. I'm sure you'll find someone to do it. I'd be very interested if you could post and tell us what you get quoted for it tho'

Spoke to a couple of people down here in the midlands who advertise in LRO/LRW, they were not prepared to give any idea at all without seeing the vehicle but both were talking £5,000 as a starting figure and assuming they would have to replace the bulkhead too.

So plan B has been instigated, my tame welder and fabricator has had a look, he reckons it can be repaired, looked fairly terminal to me but I trust him.  Basically the cross member behind the gearbox and in front of the rear sping hanger had come away from the main chasis member and the outrigger had also got buckled.  He looked at the rest of the chassis and said that as therest was solid fairly solid it was worth repairing it.  So it's off to him and his gas axe.
