Littledan:
i have just got a 3" shackle lift kit for my sj, but i was just wondering if i will need to get new shocks and break lines? if so that ok i will get some on order, but if the old ones are ok then even better :D

thanks dan :D

Popeye:
You might get away with it mate but if you do it will limit your articulation, normal SJ shocks don't open very much.

You could always go to the scrappy and pick up some cavalier or astra pin to eye shocks for the front and some series 3 swb rear shocks for the rear or astra or caviler eye to eye for the rear but then you will need longer break lines.  I've never tried these but have been told that they work.

Have you seen this site http://www.rhinocentral.co.uk/  ,I use his shocks and relocating bar

rollazuki:
Yes, get longer brake lines. If you keep the stock shox, you will have probably no downwards travel(droop)

Ideally you need to cut off the top shock mount and fit one thats higher, then you can use a longer shock, gain more travel, and it'll still be able to compress.

gate78:
i had some 3" shackles on my sj for a little while, without extending the brakepipes or getting longer shocks and had no problems. just jack the axels and have a look to make sure you are not stretching the brake lines before you take it out anywhere. To be honest they were quite crap, and i got a spring over axle which is far better.

have fun, you should not have any trouble fitting them, but id get a friend to help as you need 3 hands for some of it!

Littledan:
ok thanks all i will leave the stock shocks and break lines for now and when i get a bit more money i will upgrade them

thanks all :D
