cv joint help.

you can tell just by taking the wheel of normally,if it has a large domed end on the shaft its a 10 spline axle,if the drive flange is quite thin then its a 24spline

I drove mine about 200 miles when i lost the front cv..........had to strip it at the road side and clean out the broken bits and then drove home with 2wd only.

cool. when you say doomed would that be quite obviuose? ( cant spell for toffee :lol: )

I drove mine about 200 miles when i lost the front cv..........had to strip it at the road side and clean out the broken bits and then drove home with 2wd only.
just hate the thought of damaging the diff. if i had a spare cv joint with me then i would have no worries changing it road side.

have a look in my gallery under pics,should have a pic of a 10 spline end & a 24 spline end (24 spline is a rear but should get the jist of it)

If you break one then it wont drive anywere untill you put it in diff lock to put the drive back to the rear wheels..........so if something breaks in the front then you dont get wind up on the road in diff lock.
