can someone help me!

paul and sam:
HELP!! i have done a silly thing and managed to put the battrey on my disco the wrong way round and now have my battrey light on all the time even when the keys are out of the car. it does go off when i start it up, do i need to replace the altnator or is there a way to fix this problem. i look forward to any help regarding this matter, many thanks

Could just be the pack on the back of the alternator.  Cheaper  :wink:

I'd say you have stuffed the Diode Pack on the back of the alternator.

Sharpshooter:
Take a look here. Different reason, but same symptoms. A new alternator cured it. £60 ish from Paddocks.
