A little help needed please...
Dirty Gertie:
Well, I've just been to see the 'nice man' at the motor spares shop up the road; the bits are cheap enough; £7 for the belt and £16 for the pump, at those prices, and from the last couple of posts, it's sounding a bit more 'cope-with-able' I think I'll order the belt (it'll be monday, ay least before they can get it) and buy the book of lies. They only have the 'service and repair' version, not the 'workshop manual' which is a bit of a shame, since the latter have more info in them, might get HL fired up and have a pootle to Halfrauds, see if they have one...
Neil, yes, it'll be done in "Janie's pavement workshop" - bit miffed at the belt not being in stock actually, at least it's warmed up today; what's the betting it freezes again as soon as I get the bits.........
Dirty Gertie:
I would like to propose a toast to Mr Neil Thorne knight in shining armour and spanner-wielder extraordinare who arrived at Chez Gert a couple of hours ago and has taken the offending article to bits!! :D So far, it looks like I have been lucky; 3 broken cam-followers, but it looks like the valve-stems might be ok! :D The parts are on order, and all that remains is to 'persuade' the stubbornly seized-on water pump to detatch itself, and reassembly can commence!
Thank you so much Neil!!!!!! You are a star!![/color]

Good luck, had to smash them to bits in situ to get the b*gg**s off before now.
