Vibrations

(1/1)

Kenny:
Question with out any rude comments please, how do I stop these strong vibrations .....

Accelerate in the 90 and get to about 35 and the vibrations in the steering start, but by 45 they are getting less. The UJ's on the prop all seems fine, it does look however as if there has been some movement on the rubber seals by the UJ's on the prop (clean shaft for about 2 cm by each).

Thought of the obvious wheel balancing, had the front done to no avail. Not touched the rear. Could it be the bent Track Rod.

Any thoughts asap please as off to Detling tomorrow

strapping young lad:
i think the same applies for if a disco complained of the same thing damien.

swivel preloads
you said youve done the balancing
bushes
have you seen if you can move the prop up or down (not twist it) to see if there is any movement in the join with the diff

i had this with mine and once the prop was taken off the diff nut was not as tight as it should be, one wrench later and its now smooth

still have vibration though but not as much as i used to

Pauld:
mine starts at 60

I have done:

UJ's replaced
Wheel Balancing, twice
Hand Brake Dragging
Swivel Preload (on one side)
Steering Damper

Solved the problem, keep it below 60 and it is fine, so if you need to go faster fit bigger tyres.

I now have 35's so at 60 on the clock I am actually doing 75

Kenny:
Found it another damn UJ on the prop shaft gone. Phew
