Diesel/LPG

<< < (2/4) > >>

Hissy:
I saw the Alisport kit on e'bay. Thought it was a bit overpriced considering it's a diy fit and you still have to source a gas tank.

ChrisW:
I had a quick look at the link you sent this morning in the office, didn't realise it was without tank tho.

Wonder what the payback period is like or is it one of those dependent upon how lead footed you are, eh eh?!!

Frankie-Boy:
If memory serves correctly, you don't use LPG instead of diesel but in conjunction with it, you can't run your engine on just gas, as far as I'm aware anyway.

No doubt someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

defenderdan:
It is injected with the diesel as a method of upping power, a bit like nitrous oxide as redline mike said. Therefore it would cost more to run not less.

ChrisW:
The gas is used as a catalyst to provide a more efficient burn of the diesel increasing the power levels.
I understand the gas used is a fraction of what would be used if it was a petrol running on lpg.

Would still be interesting to see some kind of payback figures or running cost comparisons for standard engine set up against lpg diesel engine.
