Matt_H:
RAM make a good laptop mount, it uses a ball and socket system which means it can be moved around to accomodate passengers etc, and a big tray that adapts to any laptop size, the whole thing is about 50 quid and works really well

click on picture gallery, select car mount then there are two sets of disco pics in there as well as another '4x4'

I've done one in a RRC but when I got the Disco it wouldn't fit due to the electric seat motors. Otherwise the seats are the same so would have gone in.

Here it is in the Rangie anyway. I sold it for £10 a couple of months back.

Used scrap bar, a seat knob, speaker mounts choped and weled and velcro to secure the laptop. Never fell off and took some pulling off.

dude...that looks good... how did it fix to the seat?

Lee_D:
It had a bar same as the vertical support which run under the seat. This had a plate at the front with a hole in it which the front seat bolt went through and sandwiched it between the seat and the seat mount / floor. The rear of the tube had a bracket welded in place at the rear of the front seat so that it bolted to the floorpan/seatmount at the back of the rear seat, this would be just in front of the rear passengers feet if you see what I mean.

Only required one hole drilling for the rearmost bolt.

A dammed fine bit of British bodging if I do say so my self
