maybe that bracket is to bolt it to the ladder which means whatever the ladder is attached against cannot move.

other than that dunno, unless you do a search on google or ebay for roof rack ladders and search till you see the same as yours and then find out what vehicle its for.

Other end is a captive nut inside the tube...tried Ebay and can't see any..treid various manufacturers websites but no luck!!

I've seen that exact ladder someplace and cant remeber what on :S

It is not for the 2nd Gen Surf, it wouldn't go too well with a drop down tailgate  :shock:  :shock:  :shock:  :shock:  :shock:

its not a back door job, looks more likely to fit on the side of a truck.
