The gas is called called 'R134' but you have to put the correct amount of special oil in it as well called 'PAG' oil.

Thats good news as tonight hes told me he has 134a gas and r12 now called r49a gas. All I need to find out if he has the oil!! By the way how much dose it take (in grams if possible)?

R12 Gas is now illegal to use :cry:

I think thats why its been changed to the R49a gas.

I drive a refrigerated trailer and our onsite engineer done mine for a tenner last summer. Its worked perfectly well since then. He connected up all the pipes to see how much was missing ( which was nearly 90%) and topped it up and everything is fine.
