Trailer socket wiring
Tyke:
Any one got a diagramme showing the wire and pin connections for trailer and power sockets for a 1994 300TDi.
Need to redo mine and fit them higher up after ripping them off the tow hitch mount last weekend
Cheers guys.
ChrisW:
The connection to the socket is a standard regardless of make model etc - it's just the other end that connects to the vehicle wiring that can take different formats etc. etc.
See here for wiring diagrams etc.

If you're good you can route the flex through the flexible coupler from the body to the back door, you can then mount the socket on the back door between the number plate / spare (or anywhere you fancy!).
I managed to run a 12core with a couple of aux earths through mine and now have the N & S sockets up out of harms way on the back door.
I've also made up a pair of N&S 'extension leads' for anything that hasn't got a long enough flex to reach
Tyke:
Spot on Chris, that's just what I need.
Can see the sockets doing a move to somewhere out of harms way at last.
Thanks mate.

I reckon mine were high enough for most sensible use
ChrisW:
Did have mine mounted in a similar arrangement but they did take a few knocks albeit the use may not have been too sensible at the time!
