What model Discovery?

--- Quote from: "gords" ---OK - I'm looking for a s/h rear diff and have found two so far.

1 from a 1995 76,000 miles donor @ £90
1 from a 1998 32,000 miles donor @ £125

Is half the mileage worth £35?

umm not sure really but i suppose the 32,000 miles has less wear but then it might have had a harder life etc etc if it was me i would get the cheap one (but im tight fisted)

disco 1 finished around 98 although there are some "T" plated ones about and disco 2 started on "S" in 98 so there is a bit of a crossover

Come on then, what would you do?

beast5680:
personally speaking i,d go for the newer one

Henry Webster:
If they are the only ones, then needs must, but I recently bought an entire front axle for £100 - and rears if anything should be cheaper and just a diff cheaper than that.

That may have been particularly cheap, but I'm not sure I'd want to pay much over £95 for a second hand diff almost regardless of mileage.
