I am going to hammerite my 2 bumpers soon as they are a bit rusty. Plasticoat spray? what is that and what does it do? I can roughly guess from its name. I have never heard of it though.

--- Quote from: "landyloony" ---The liner will probably get binned as the foam backing seems to act as a moisture trap keeping any damp next to the floor.
think I'll cut it dow so theres still a piece under the rear seats  but bin the rest

I've removed mine too. They are just like a sponge, always soaking wet. I've replaced mine with 5 ply Marine Plywood, cut out and shaped around the wheel arches. To the underside of the ply I've screwed many rubber feet (actually electrical grommets) and they keep the wood off the metal work and also allow the air to circulate. The ply goes all the way the the front edge of the rear seats so if I fold them down I've got a nice large work surface.

I also took the time to run 4 bolts through the ply and through the rear floor pan area. This hold everything solid and tight in place. I've attached a ratchet strap to the ply so all my kit is now firmly under control.

Works a treat :-)
