excessive play in t/box output

Budgie:
The TD5 Defender box is a 1.4:1 ratio, the Disco is 1.2:1 and the earlier Defenders have 1.6:1. Details on Ashcrofts site.  :wink:
Oh, and the low box is the same across the range so with large dia tyres then you're slightly overgeared on decents in low box.  :wink:

I went a recon 1.4:1 transfer box from Ashcrofts, runs nice with the 33" tyres.  :D

The only problem is, if the mainshaft has worn then it's the gearbox that needs replacing/referb' not the transfer box.  :(

I have a clunk from what i assumed was the gearbox..but it goes away when the props are greased...so big angle props next! This isnt the prob on yours Chuga as you have clearly got play somewhere! never straightforward is it!
