Not only British Gas, but Jehovas Witnesses.

May have been, no, you are right  :?  With the amount of brain cells I've lost over the years loosing an 'r' isn't too bad  :lol:  :lol:

I can remember a smokey working man's club and a slightly perplexed Mr Crompton (the Committee Chairman) saying things like "give order" and "the committee has decided". And after attracting attention with his wind-up bell he would give out orders, announced the acts and snippets of club business.

Looking at the picture again and delving into the memory bank, how about Flanagan and Allen  :wink:
