Diff lock bulb
Jimbo:
Been out for a quick play, and it appears that my diff-lock light is not working (it was the other week, definitely !).
Where do I start ?
Bulb in the binnacle ?
Switch on the 'box ?
Fuse ?
As far as I can tell, everything else electrical works - assuming that the D/L light is fused, what else does that fuse protect ?
It's on the 110 Td5 BTW.
Thanks,
Jim

get under the car, have a look up at the transfer box (assuming its the same as earlier models) you should be able to see the switch coming out of the right hand side facing forwards (I think!). You may also be able to see it if you take the middle seat out (td5s have removable panels right?).
Make up a quick jumper and short the two connections on the switch - does the light come on now? If not then it is most likely the bulb but dont rule out a bit of snagged wiring. If it does then check the switch with a multimeter - they can need adjusting by screwing in or out of the box case then a lock nut keep it tight.

Hmmm, had a quick look for the switch on the t-box and couldn't see nowt - too much mud and cack, and it was getting dark !
Looks like a job for the weekend

there should be only one set of wires going in that direction so try following those.. there is one set at the back - that's the reverse switch.

oh auto box - may be different for reverse and extra wires as I seem to recall someone saying autos had some kind of ecu for the gearbox - dont hold me to that though :-(
