have any of you suzuki boys got rid of you rangie and replaced it with a suzuki,?????????and had no regrets..i might be considering this move but would like to know if anyone has regretted such a move.

i went from a s111 to a 410.

Felt exactly the same.

I started with a 110 td, excellent motor for working hard, good tow vehicle, not for too much travelling.

Then had a V8 rangie on gas, nearly as good at towing as the 110, more comfortable on the road, pretty good alround vehicle, just heavy on the fuel.

Then i got a zuk, absolutly useless for towing, about the same on the road as the 110, but for having fun, priceless. It was modified to be better on the road, got good fuel economy, went well and was quite comfortable(for an offroader)

So at the end of the day it all depends what you expect from your 4x4, if its for fun, then get the zuk, you wont look back.
However, if you use it for towing or lots of road miles, then keep the rangey.

Or if you can afford it, have both, best of both worlds :lol:

Just get used to NO luggage/kit space

Other than that, about as economical as a landy, bits are more expensive, but soooo much fun

SWMBO had a SJ 410 for a while.
She now has a series 3 and reckons its more comfy to drive!?!

Went from diesel Rangie to SJ410I am with Vauxuki
Different beasts but 410 is the best off roader, rangie too big and expensive.

My perspective is from an off-roading view point.

Had a RR but got rid of it as it broke too many times.  I do miss the V8... when it wasn't overheating!

Suzukis; you get one and you grin.  Then you grin some more and then you split your face with an ear-to-ear grin.  Aint no other 4x4 that does that for me, they are sooooo much fun.

Dead easy to work on, bolts come undone rather than snap (like the RR).

I do miss the V8 but with a hammer and a large saw I'm sure it will fit in the SJ.    8)

I haven't found anywhere a RR can go that an SJ can't but there's plenty the other way round.

Just my thoughts but I'm biased as I used to work at Lode lane!  :shock:

Audi fits perfectly over the bumps round our way, hit em at 30 and dont even feel em.

First day in Rabbit, hit one at 30 ....

Smacked head on door and back end took off, thought every body panel had fallen off and I'd left the wheels behind  :oops:

Neigh a scratch on her.  I do miss the Audi's Suspension when I'm driving  Rabbit though.

the only advantage to a zuki is that when itgoes over its a 2 man job to get onto the wheels!!! :wink:
but if you get a rangie, youve got the power, the offroad ability, the comfort, or have your teeth rattled around in a little zuk?!?!

ive only ever tried a zuki as im a rangie man n i deffo wudnt think about goin down to such a low level!!! :wink:

Oh yeah johnny p get real mate there is no off roading ability in a range rover with out chopping it up and spending loads on it. SJ and vits are fun, thats the point. getting your teeth rattled about is something to tell your mates down the pub. Off road ability sjs are vastly underestimated and vitaras even more so.  But maybe thats why some peoplr like them because they are a challange to off road.

If you wantr a serious off roader thats gunna get you exactly where you want and be reliable and capable then get a G wagon! They [throw it] all over most off roaders when modded properly and don't come home with the AA every weekend.

Got both

Whinne and swmbo has a 1995 Vitara 1 coil spacers and 225/75*15 Colway AT's.  Each to its own, big and heavy- light and nimble and both are capable off road and on.

If I had to choose one it would be Whinne purely because of what it is.

There are pros ans cons to owning either !
There are places a SUZUKI will go a RANGIE wont and vice versa.
A Suzi £4£ are cheaper  and more affordable. :D
Spares wise not a lot of difference. I have owned several of each and modified both so have a fair idea. (4 Suzis, 11 Rangies, Shogun, 110, Disco, Panda4x4).+ 64 other cars and bikes . :?
I drive a Rangie but would buy another Suzi 2morow. I would not sell the Rangie but what a laugh they are. My neighbour has just got a Suzi 410 with 6 months tax and ticket for £300. Guess I will be making him a snorkel and shackle kit then ! :roll:

I have gone from Vitara with Calmini 2inch lift kit 225/7516s snorkel etc etc, to a Jeep 4.0l Cherry 2in lift 33/15s etc, to v reg Jimny 2in lift 215/75/15s snorkel steering guard etc , to Defender200tdi with same sort
of spec as the rest! guess what -I miss the VIT so much im going back to 1, pound for pound you cant get as much fun out of anything else as a ZUK, They have a grin factor that just cant be matched-in my opinion anyway,

Actually had a really nice experience today :)

Time to change Brake pads on front (not including sheared bolts, my fault tho) 30 mins

Time to do ONE set of pads on the Audi : 1 1/2 Hours if lucky.

Really starting to like how easy it is to get at everything on the Vitara

i go off roading with some guys whove got an sj 413 and its great fun, im now looking at getting one for myself however i am still looking at landys etc but for cheap fun i dont think you can really beat a zuki, but landys do seem more comfy and as capable

If you need to tow anything then its got to be a land rover, if you actually want to drive off road then it has to be a Suzuki. Not bad on fuel, nimble, fit down the smallest of lanes where Land rovers get stuck or cant get, can generally get over anything , if it wont go over then drag it!

Hi there,yes I have to aggree with the above post. The only things a SJ won't do are heavy load carrying and heavy towing. SJ best 4x4xfar, per pound that is. I have a road going Disco and a Samurai that gets towed to play days. I can abuse it in the knowledge that it will still get me home even if I break it. I have not managed to break it yet. I have a Ford 1600cc X flow engine going in soon and a roll cage fitted, expect I will be able to break it then. :twisted:

Not long bought an SJ413. I still have the V8 110 and have no intentions of parting with it. The 110 tows, carries, stores ( :lol: ) more than any Zuke will! But I'll probably use the SJ for laning, mainly because of the economy and size. The 110 is far more kitted so will still get used at off road centres.
