oil leek from front diff

(1/2) > >>

muddyjames:
Is this a common problem with Disco's? Is there an easy cure?

Also what kind of oil does it take? Is it as easy to do as on a series landy?

Xtremeteam:
its a common thing as they made the axle casings out of irn bru tins,a proper repair needs a diff pan welded on to the axle after cutting off the old one.a bodge/temp repair is to cover it with epoxy resin type stuff, to top it/ checck the level undo the front plug with a 1/2 inch ratchet
& it takes EP90 gear oil

muddyjames:
welding new diff pans on. Oh dear :( I dont like the sound of that.

I will try epoxy resin. 5 minute epoxy the right stuff?
