Fuel Leak!

(1/5) > >>

Damonski:
Well I found out today why my Disco is worse than a V8 to run

I had just put the caravan on the back and pulled the van forward ready to go stick my marker post in, as I opened my door it smelt like Bunsfield

A quick look underneath the drivers floor area and a great leak of petrol all over my chassis and dripping at a amazing pace  :(

Decided to reverse van back unhitch and head home to unload my tools and stuff.  Just going to take it into the garage this afternoon for repair.  I havent got the enthusiasm whilst its cold like this to sit and play fixing trucks

So fingers crossed I should have a economical (in L/R terms anyway) truck again  :)

chuggaman:
there was a recall on landrover petrol fuel tanks.

Damonski:
That thought did cross my mind, however the leak is definately under the drivers floor rather than the rear of the disco. As the petrol is dripping there and the chassis is wet with it. Everywhere else seems dry.

I will have a search and maybe contact the local dealer up the road to see if mine has already been done.  I take it they could tell from the chassis number?

hobbit:
Drivers floor side, might be a fuel pipe?

Damonski:
yep, I should have said that in the first posting,  Under there around the chassis rail are two pipes, having a touch and smell is what told be petrol :(
