alarm on 300tdi.
muddyjames:
When I used to zap the disco to lock it the indicators used to flas 3 or 4 times.
When I was away on holiday a mate kept his dog in the car whilst us daft volunteers in the snow went on site. Somehow the zapper got pushed and locked all the doors and then about a minute later the dog set the alarm off and since then when I lock it the indicators stay on for about 4-5 seconds and dont flash like before.
Do I have to reset the alarm somehow?
If I lock the car with the key in the door the indicators flash then. It isonly with the zapper that the lights dont flash.
Homer:
I had something similar to this with my 200TDi,
Turned out it was a warning that the batteries in the remote needed replacing. Replaced batteries and all was OK again.

Tyke:
Can second that mate.
Was out camping/fishing for a couple of nights over the holiday and the same thing happened to mine.
The cold totally screwed up the remote batteries and how the alarm works. Once they were warmed up and subsequently changed all was well again.
muddyjames:
I must say that I have had to be getting closer and closer to the car to zap it.
If I change the battery do I have to spend an arm and a leg getting it re coded or what ever it is called?
I do have a spare but that battery is also flat.
It looks like it may have been coincidence that the dog was in the car.

Probably is mate. My dog spends quite a bit of time in my vehicle and then I usually just lock it with the key.
Just get down the shop and replace the zapper batteries. Mine was that simple. No re-coding required.
