RUST PROOFING

(1/3) > >>

Sharpshooter:
Hi, ive got to protect the underside of my 110 soon, and i wondered what is the best stuff to do it with? Is is WAX-OIL, or under body SCJULTZ or is there something else on th market that i dont need to take out a loan to use? Cheers :D  :D  :D [/b]

muddyweb:
Waxoyl gets my vote.  Schultz / underbody stuff isn't as good and can trap water, making the problem of corrosion worse.

With waxoyl, you need to get it inside the chassis more than anything.  I tend to paint the outside of my chassis with hammerite, and touch it up when it gets scraped / scratched.

Sharpshooter:
can you apply waxoyl with a spray gun, or do thos flimsy guns you can buy actually work??

Legionnaire:
I am currently rust proofing my Defender, I have cleaned all the underneath and have just finished today putting Finigans No 1 on, I am going to start Waxoyling on Monday with one of these little sprays so I can let you know then.
The only problem I have found so far Is the odd hole I have found in what I thought was a very sound chassis, in for welding next week!

Dangermouse:
Don't waxoil were it's to be welded it burns well i here
