OK, i was persuaded..... just picked up an M reg 300TDI auto, needs a little attention, i.e. some rust spots on front bumper, and some chipped paint, but got it for a good price, and runs lovely (then again i am used to a 2.5TD 90) :D
now to start adding the extras :lol:

Same age and engine as mine and yes mine has a few rust spots on both bumpers but chassis sound. I had to have the alternator pulley and tensioner replaced. The pulley was £500 to do by a great guy near Banbury who geniunly looks after your wallet.
What model is it you got? Does it have the leather seats, roof bars, cd player, air con etc etc? How much did you pay if you dont mind me asking?
Cant wait to see photos of it.
I am off to cut the bumper now on mine. I have been told a stanley knife will do the end caps. :lol: we shall find out soon!

well £470 to be exact.10 hours labour £300, 1 stc4096k £76 what ever that is, £11 belt, £14 pulley, Damper £42, pluss other bits and pieces.
Any where else that would have been near 2k I reckon. £30ph labour I think is good as land rover would charge £75ph? This guy managed to save my crank shaft. Land rover wouldnt have done that they would have charged me £800+vat for a new one pluss they would have then had to strip the engine down to replace it. I count myself lucky and got away lightly.

Just standard 7 seater TDI, no aircon, leather, or roof bars. Paid £3000, only 3 months MOT so that should be fun?
I will stick some photos up tomorrow.
