LANDYTIM:
Problems with my rear wheel bearings!

Ive got a 90 that has a disked 300tdi axle on it. The bearings have been changed recently but not the hub nuts are on cross treaded and wont stay tight! This is causing all manor of problems and I need to know what i can do about a cross threaded thread!!

cheers guys!

muddyweb:
Sadly not much to be done with a crossthreaded hub nut.

The nuts and most likely the stub axles will need replacing.

The stub axles will be 40 quid each or thereabouts, but these are the things which hold the vehicle and wheels together, so it isn't worth taking the chance of a bodge.

LANDYTIM:
ok thats cool.

how much does the whole job cost?

Is it easy?

Can I do it myself?

Cheers Tim

drmike:
I've done it and it's tedious rather than difficult. Have you got the manual as an exploded diagram will help.

Bet you lose some skin though!
