removing engine

ahhhha!  Not sure they'd want to take a trip to suburbia and wait around whilst I unbolted things :-(

oh... anyone any ideas if you can get the whole engine and gearboxes out as one?

i did this on a transit once, not sure if discos are the same

remove the radiator,
                 front panel headlights etc
                 remove the props

and wheel the engine out instead of lifting it.

otherwise a 1.5 tonne hoist from a tool hire shop

good idea!  what about the front axle?  I guess I could wheel it out to the side after jacking the car up

surely if ur breaking the disco it would make sense to get rid of the axles and drop the engine down that way and lift the body away with hi lift jacks that way all the engine and box can stay together or am i talkin rubbish  :lol:
