Yes, we know it looks like a mobile but this groundbreaking piece of kit is actually a VoIP friendly USB phone that allows you to make Skype calls on the move via your laptop.

VoIP = Voice over IP
Skype is software that allows you to "phone" other Skype users by using your (and their) Internet connection ... i.e. for free (assuming Broadband / not pay per minute dialup). You can either use a microphone and normal PC speakers, or buy one of those USB VoIP phones.

I use Skype to call the family when I'm away in India.  Pay pennies (well, rupees actually) for the broadband connection in the Hotel and then speak for free for as long as we want (better than paying £200 for a 40min call).  Works very well, and you don't need one of those USB phones to do it, just a normal mic.

I've finally got round to installing Skype  :roll:  just need to sort family and friends out now :wink:
