I reckon this is a first timer for you all, I'll admit it was for me :shock:
Shock! Horror! 'BTM' admits he's learned something!!! :shock:  :lol:  :lol:  :lol:

It is a Fowler (of Leeds) 'Compound' Traction Engine. Originally built in an experiment with 12foot diameter rear wheels :shock:
It was returned to the factory & rebuilt as a four-wheel-drive in August 1885!!!
And with selectable front-drive at that  :shock:  :shock:

And people think Latiltimber-tractors were one of the first heavy-duty applications of 4x4 engineering (so did I until this morning)
This link shows a 1930's model, they were in use around WW1
