Borders, i dont think you will have much luck that way. I nearly had a fit trying to get 5 tyres from Shropshire. The roofrack + tent etc will weigh around 90 - 110 kgs at a guess. Thats a lot to shift.
Try small independant couriers as the big guys dont want the trouble. They will probably insist its in a box!!

drum:
As someone that works in the parcel industry (but on the IT side), pack it to survive a 2m drop onto croncrete. And most independents, will insist on all metal been covered up. (No sharpe dges for H&S) And Anything over 50kg per box and it needs to go on a pallet. 50kg is a 2 man light according to H&S.

am going to be up in middlesbough teeside way on tuesday some time aftoonish evening time think i might even have to overnite that way if u could get it down to there i can bring it back down to brum with me then make arangements to meet u or bring it over to u if that helps cheers steve 07979442881

hire a van or luton van from enterprise or europcar for 24hrs or a bit longer

get the van on the eve of day 1

set off at some obscene time of the moring on day 2 and all being well get there for opening time and should be home by tea
