FIRST DISCO : FIRST LIFT
muddymart:
Hi all, ive had my disco only a week,so after browsing all the forum, could i ask you disco lovers \:D/
Whats the best value for money lift you can get,i know money speaks value, somewhere inbetween i'd reckon,as my disco is leaning a bit now, must be the 200k mile original springs,
Thanks ,Martin

my advise
firstly decide what you will do offroad wise in the future
what size tyres do you want?
how much ground clearance you need!
it pays to do the thinking and the research first so you dont have to spend excess money
a three inch lift for me cost 230.00 but that was only for the springs and shocks.
extended brake lines, relocation cones, and heavy duty spring retaining clamps are also food for thought.

and im really wanting to do some green laning, with having the samurai before it was already kitted out when i got it so i didnt really buy anything,
perhaps 2-3"lift and some decent at tyres, itjust knowing the best place to get them from,as shopping around takes forever, thanks martin

just been through this myself. so many options....
i use mine as a daily drive and for off road at the weekends. i originaly wanted to do a 2" lift. but just chatting to different people i decided that maybe it wasnt what i needed.
the rear springs on mine are really sagged after 240.000 miles so i knoew they had to be done. i have all the new bits sat here infront of me now.
i bought a set of 4 procomp es9000 +2" shocks.
i also bought a set of heavy duty springs. these will give me a little left to what it is sat at now. i also bought extended bump stops and dislocation cones and retaining straps. this should give me 2" extra axle travel but wont comprimise the on road handling.
i think this little lot cost me about £200 ish
