v8 cutting out?

Has anyone experienced there V8 cutting out intermitently?

The orange warning light comes on only for a second or two and there is clicking behind the dash, sounds like a relay activating?  but she will after dying for a second or two continue to run OK.  This happens through out the driving range, and despite that she is running top form at the moment.

Had a Sierra which had similar, ended up dying completely after much searching it was the Fuel pump relay but dont want to get to s stage where im stranded?

Please help

when my V8i rangie was cutting out (like someone just switched the engine off) even happened whilst under load, it turned out to be the ingition amplifier on the side of the dizzy, took me months of frustration and changing almost everything to find and sort this one.

My Volvo 740 did a similar thing, and it was something in the dizzy, cant remember now what exactly.

Scared the life out of me the first time it happened, was trundling down the motorway and the engine misses and backfires, huge bang :)

My brother was following straight behind us. Never forget the look on his face -->    <-- is sort of it .  After a little sit on the hard shoulder it started again and ran fine.  However previous to that event it had started to do what you describe, stumbling, then picking up, I never thought much of it, maybe a blocked injector or something.  Well worth checking out in more detail before you get stranded.

Clickin relays suggests a loose connection rather than a faulty component.

Whats the orange warning light for ?

Range Rover Blues:
!

That one in Orange?  it's the ECU warning light.  The clicking sounds like a relay, if it clicks at the same time as the light flashes it's a fault of some sort within the EFi.  Can't tell you much more without more details.
