Return spring fitting to carbs

(1/1)

petergalileo:
My local Land Rover club requires the fitment of a return spring to the carbs, I assume to make sure the engine revs return to idle if theres a break in the throttle cable or an accident.

Has anyone done this ? How is it done ? I am assuming its just a matter of bodging some sort of spring on the rods at the back of the carb ?

Thanks

is yours the twin su setup??

on my dads 110 we put a spring between the pass side carb lever & the manifold itself, hard describe without pics but im sure some1 else will be able to explain better

petergalileo:
Yes Twin SUs.  Doesnt that make the throttle pedal as stiff as the clutch !
