Nightmare.
Hope you get it all sorted soon.
I might have a spare rear bumper and NS end cap soon if you want.

cheers for the offer mate. they have classed my disco as undrivable as the rear door is now letting water in at the top. so they seem to think it may have moved    i am picking up their hire car in the morning. a mitsubishi warrior shogun what ever they look like. just hope they dont write it off. i am trying to stay positive. with any luck it will all be fine. looks like he hit it quite hard as the rear bumper is sitting along way out. sits away from rear crossmember buy about 2" on passenger side......lets hope its the brackets that are bent.
if they do write it off i will have to buy it back to get all my new fancey bits off it again
cheers

Den

It all depends on how honest you were in the first place when buying the insurance.  If you disclosed all the extras and they are covered under the insurance, then the total loss figure should include them.  If the vehicle is a write of due to uneconomical repair, then you could ask the insurer if you can retain the salvage.

If it is a higher category of write off, then by law they cannot let you have the salvage but, you may be able to deal with the salvage agents for bits and peices or the insurer may let you remove them.

Hope this helps (sorry, only glanced through the pages)

I'm sure you will get first refusal if you want to buy it back....

But I think you should ask them first to take that pile of black c#@p away and bring you that Discovery 3 again.

When i had a vehicle 'written off' by some muppet who didnt see it, (it was bright electric blue for crying out loud!) the insurance company allowed me to buy it back off them.
2wks later i had it back on the road after repairing the damage and getting a brand new MOT to show it was road worthy. This was a few years ago now but I cant see why they wouldn't let you do that too,
Good Luck
