hilux hub tool (Non -IFS type)

(1/1)

Ja1983:
dropped the trusty stead off at my local garage this morning, got to work, got a phonecall...

aparently theres a great big nut. 12 sided, and he had nowt to remove it.

result is, now stuck with no way of efficently stopping! :?

anyone have the tool they could lend/sell or know a way round it/have a pic so i can describe problem to second local garage?

cheers in advance guys

laser_jock99:
On the IFS truck you'll need a 2-1/8" BIG socket for removing the wheel hub nuts. Not sure if it's the same on solid axle but I have one if it is required?

Ja1983:
ooo, that looks like it may wwell be the fella!

.however, its booked in for tomorrow morning elsewhere, so hopefully they will have something in stock!

big thanks anyway :D

Ja1983:
yay, now have functioning brakes!

nut wasnt the full extent of the drama tho, discs were 6mm smaller (in diameter) and the callipers wouldnt take the pads! = nightmare!

managed to re-build callipers to take the discs and pads, so should all be straight forward next time round! 8)
