where can I buy decent quantities of engine oil etc ?

Rather than paying Halfords etc prices for engine oil for the Discovery, I was thinking about getting a drum of the stuff as I guess that would be a bit cheaper long term, but not sure where to start looking ?  Garage suppliers ?, refineries ?

contact garages (not franchise and see if they can get you a drum)

failing that maybe a distributor (the ones who distribue oils to domestic homes) may help

an agricultural distributor (the ones who sells tractors and so forth) may help

Jas278:
Being in the trade I buy 205L at a time ,all your local factors can supply this in a number of grades, i usually have 15/40 semi synthetic and it works out at 0.92p a litre

steve prosser:
I find that most of the decent motor factors around keep oils, (engine oils gearbox and axle oils and anti freeze etc) in 25Ltrs drums which works out cheaper than buying 5ltrs but without  the hassle of having 205ltrs drums to move about and deposit for the drums

The company next door to where i work use rock oils for all there hyd oils, have a look at there website they maybe able to help too!
