There's a feature in the latest issue of 'Truck & Driver'.
I'm sure it's 'T&D', but it might be one of the other truck magzines (I had a quick browse in Tibshelf services yesterday)

It did say Oshcosh on the side step.
I was'nt sure though if that was the brand or the the makers of the step.
I read it and thought that Oshcosh made kids clothes.
Guess they make bl**dy big trucks too.

A lot of manufacturers started making heavy plant/equipment many years ago and as modern times demand diversification, when they see a gap in the market then they fill it. Anything to make money and keep the company going.
Nokia make big tyres and safety wellies. Recently they do mobile phones.
Daewoo make big ships,large excavators, recently they do cheap cars and cheaper microwaves.

Caterpillar make heavy plant, now they make shoes. Or at least I assume they don't make them, but they do brand them. And Land Rover brand mountain bikes...
Maybe Oshkosh should diversify into coshes.
