Ever seen this? Snapped on my hybrid ?!?!?!?!

Yep, caliper snapped

Was in a serious deep, sticky hole stuck, winched out and when I next used the brakes they failed

Put it on the trailer as I could see a pipe going to the caliper snagged and kinked.  Thought nothing of it till I cleaned it and then I noticed it was not attached!!!!!!

Got some Disco ones on now  :D  :D

ian_s:
just goes to show the forces that can be applied when your offroad

I take it they are stronger....

.... makes me a little happier then (as I have 4!)

davidlandy:
Jeez, that sbad

never seen that before

might be something to do with that halfords-boy-racer-red paint you have put on them somehow causing metal fatigue!!!!

rollazuki:
Its not a build up of mud and crap on the hub forced it over and snapped it possibly?  Its bloody strong in the right direction, but if you imagine forcing a wedge of mud between the hub and the caliper body, then you are applying the forces in all the wrong directions.....

You didnt just break it trying to change the brake pads did you?
